Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health Announces Free Volunteer Training Program Starting October 1st.
Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health is pleased to announce the launch of its next Volunteer Training Program, set to begin on October 1st, 2024. This comprehensive, five-week program is designed to prepare individuals for the rewarding experience of volunteering with patients and families receiving home health and hospice care. The training sessions will be held every Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, concluding on October 29th, 2024.
Volunteers play an integral role in the care provided by Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health. Their support is invaluable to both patients and their families, offering comfort, companionship, and practical assistance during challenging times. In addition to patient and family support, volunteers also contribute to community outreach and fundraising efforts, helping to extend the reach and impact of Pemi-Baker’s services across the region.
“Our volunteers are the heart of our organization,” said Angie Burke, Volunteer Coordinator at Pemi-Baker Hospice & Home Health. “We believe that everyone has unique talents and skills to offer, and our training program is designed to accommodate those differences. Whether someone is interested in providing direct support to patients and families, assisting with community outreach, or contributing to our fundraising efforts, there’s a place for them here.”
Each session will cover essential topics such as understanding the needs of hospice and home health patients, effective communication techniques, and the emotional aspects of end-of-life care. By the end of the program, participants will be fully equipped to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve.
Please pre-register by September 26th to participate in the Volunteer Training Program. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to Angie Burke, Volunteer Coordinator, by emailing info@pbhha.org or calling 603-536-2232. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
